Ambassador Program Overview

International Medical Aid's Ambassador Program

Written by Mark Jones

International Medical Aid (IMA) seeks passionate and engaged alumni to join our Study Abroad Ambassador Program. This opportunity is perfect for former interns who want to stay involved and inspire other students to pursue meaningful global health experiences.

What Is the Study Abroad Ambassador Program?

The Study Abroad Ambassador Program is designed for students who have completed an IMA internship and want to continue contributing by sharing their experience with others on campus. Ambassadors are key in promoting global health engagement and helping peers understand the value of immersive clinical learning abroad.

As an Ambassador, you will share your experience with prospective students, host Q&A sessions, and participate in social media takeovers for IMA. You’ll also provide tips to help future interns make the most of their experience.

After your internship, you'll step into a leadership role on your college campus, serving as a mentor and resource for students exploring international programs.

Qualification Requirements

To be considered for the Ambassador role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Reflective Experience

You should be able to thoughtfully reflect on your internship, especially if you’ve participated in multiple programs. Organize your experiences to highlight the variety and depth of your learning.

Professionalism and Positivity

Maintain a professional and positive attitude when representing IMA. Your outlook should reflect our values and inspire others to consider the program.

Strong Communication Skills

You must be comfortable writing and speaking about your experiences. Sharing your story in a relatable, articulate way is essential to connecting with peers.

Continued Involvement with IMA

Ideal candidates are those who have remained active in IMA-related initiatives—whether through academics, co-curriculars, or ongoing mentorship.
