Can I Fundraise for My Program Expenses?

IMA offers a detailed Fundraising Guide, and many interns successfully raise part or all of their program fees. Support is available.

Absolutely! IMA provides guidance on Fundraising Strategies to help participants finance their programs. Many past interns have successfully fundraised part or all of their program costs.

International Medical Aid (IMA) encourages and supports participants in fundraising to help cover their program expenses. Many of our past interns have successfully raised a portion—or even the full cost—of their internship using a combination of tools and strategies we provide.

Fundraising Support from IMA

We offer a detailed Fundraising Guide with step-by-step instructions for launching a successful campaign. The guide covers everything from crafting compelling donation requests to organizing community events, and it even includes sample letters and templates you can customize.

In addition, your Program Mentor can help you brainstorm fundraising strategies tailored to your community, school, or social network.

Proven Strategies That Work

Some common and effective ways our interns have raised funds include:

  • Creating a personal fundraising page

  • Writing letters to friends, family, and local businesses

  • Hosting events like bake sales, trivia nights, or online raffles

  • Securing support from religious or civic groups

  • Applying for grants and university travel funds

We’re here to help you make your program financially accessible through every avenue possible.
