Does Not Receiving a Secondary Essay Mean I’ve Been Rejected?

Not receiving a secondary application doesn’t mean you’ve been rejected. Your application is still under consideration until you get an official rejection letter.

Medical schools may send out secondaries in waves. You could be placed on hold while they prioritize other applicants, but your file can still be pulled for review later. Some schools revisit held applications to fill remaining interview spots as the cycle progresses.

If you haven’t received a secondary yet, be patient. It doesn’t always reflect your chances—just the school’s process and timeline.
