Pre-Radiologic Internship Program Overview

International Medical Aid, a not-for-profit founded at Johns Hopkins University, offers pre-radiologic technology internships abroad for undergraduate students, graduate students, and licensed clinicians in high-need regions—East Africa, South America, and the Caribbean. By delivering essential healthcare support, participants gain valuable experience across radiologic specialties through our internships and study abroad programs.

IMA reinvests in all of the communities in which we operate. We provide a structured environment with multiple sources of local and U.S.-based support. IMA oversees every aspect of our interns’ overseas experience, including extensive safety and infection control procedures training.

Our Clinical Experience

Our clinical experience goal is achieved through our emphasis on hands-on learning, providing interns with a solid medical theory and practice foundation. Our physician shadowing and clinical rotations enable interns to work closely with healthcare professionals, observe medical procedures, and participate in patient care.

  • Two Years of Spanish Language Experience (Only Programs in South America)

    • Admissions are conducted on a rolling basis.
