Here are the frequently asked questions about Financial Information and Scholarship under the Parent's Guide.

What does the Program Fee include?

The Program Fee covers the following:

  • Housing

  • Meals

  • In-country Transportation

  • Orientation

  • Mentorship

  • 24/7 Support

It also includes all clinical or public health experiences and cultural excursions. During enrollment, each location provides a detailed breakdown of what's included.

Are there any additional expenses we should plan for?

Yes. Families should plan for airfare, passports/visa costs, routine vaccinations, travel insurance upgrades (if needed), and personal spending money. We offer a checklist to help your family budget and prepare accordingly.

Is financial aid available?

We offer competitive need-based and merit-based scholarships to help make our programs accessible. We also provide guidance on external scholarship opportunities and strategies for crowdfunding or university-funding support.

Are there any scholarships or financial aid options?

Yes. International Medical Aid offers need-based and merit-based scholarships for eligible students. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as scholarships are limited.

Note: Additional external scholarships and fundraising opportunities may also be available.

Can we pay in installments?

Yes. Flexible payment plans are available to help families manage costs over time. Full payment is typically required before departure, and we provide clear deadlines and installment options after program acceptance.

What happens if my child needs to cancel?

We understand that unexpected situations may arise. Refunds depend on the timing of cancellation, and we also offer the option to defer participation.

For transparency, our full refund and cancellation policy is outlined in our Terms of Service and Program Waivers.
