What resources are provided to help advisors promote the program to students?

We offer a comprehensive toolkit that includes the following:

  • Digital Flyers

  • Brochures

  • Email Templates

  • Informative Session Slide Decks

  • Access to Promotional Videos

Advisors may also co-host webinars with our team or receive pre-recorded content to distribute internally. All materials are branded and customized to reflect your institution's identity and academic priorities.

Can IMA customize programs or webinars for our student population?

Yes. IMA frequently creates custom sessions for specific student populations such as Pre-PA, Pre-Dental, or Global Health Tracks. We also tailor placement focus areas such as:

  • Surgery

  • Maternal Health

  • Infectious Disease

Custom webinars and group programs are available on request, including for honors colleges, GAP year cohorts, and university-led initiatives.

How does IMA communicate with advisors before, during, and after the internship?

Advisors receive a welcome packet with itinerary details, student goals, and emergency contacts before the program begins. During the program, we provide weekly updates or reports (with student consent) and alert advisors promptly if an issue arises.

Afterward, we share student evaluations, feedback summaries, and opportunities for continued collaboration.

Is there a designated liaison or advisor support contact at IMA?

Yes. Each partner institution is assigned a dedicated University Relations Liaison, the primary contact point. This liaison handles the following:

  • Program Logistics

  • Advisor Support

  • Coordination with students pre- and post-travel.

Our general advisor's inbox and phone line are monitored daily to assist promptly.

Can IMA facilitate faculty-led programs?

Absolutely. We work with faculty to co-design short-term global health programs that align with specific learning outcomes and curricular goals. IMA manages all housing, transportation, safety, and clinical site coordination, while faculty lead academic content. Faculty-led programs can run for as little as one week and often include up to 150 students per group.
