What is the minimum age to apply?
Applicants must be 15 years old by the start of their program. Students may apply at 14 years old, as long as they will meet the minimum age requirement by the time the program begins.
Do I need to know Spanish or Swahili before arriving?
No. All interns participate in daily medical language lessons tailored to clinical interaction. Orientations and didactic programs are conducted in English.
Will I be involved in hands-on patient care?
No. Interns observe and assist with non-invasive tasks under supervision but are not permitted to perform medical procedures. In addition to rotations, interns will participate in Clinical Simulation Sessions which will give them exposure to hands on clinical skills in safe, supervised and simulated environments.

What's the food like?
Meals include a variety of local and international options, thoughtfully prepared by our experienced in-house hospitality team. Vegetarian and allergy-sensitive diets are accommodated, and efforts are made to ensure meals are both nutritious and culturally diverse.
What if I get sick during the program?
Immediate medical care is available, and program staff will accompany students to healthcare facilities if needed.
Are flights included in the program fee?
No. Students are responsible for their airfare. However, we do help with arranging airfare via partnerships with travel agencies.
What time of year do programs run?
High school programs run year-round, with most students enrolling in summer or winter breaks, as well as during gap semesters.
Can I stay longer than six weeks?

Do students get free time?
