Written by Mark Jones

We are delighted to welcome you to International Medical Aid. You’re just a few steps away from finalizing your place in our program. Please review the information below and complete the necessary steps to secure your internship position.

How It Works

Our programs are designed to provide a structured and enriching experience, ensuring each participant has access to the necessary resources for a successful journey.

An initial Program Deposit is required to secure your spot. Once the payment is completed, you will be redirected to fill out the Pre-Matriculation Form and Program Waivers.

During this process, you will have the opportunity to indicate your Preferred Start Date and Program Duration.

Once all required documents are submitted, a Program Mentor will contact you within 72 hours with further guidance.

We look forward to supporting you as you embark on this exciting journey with International Medical Aid.

Enrollment Process

1. Secure your Spot

To guarantee your position in the program, please make a non-refundable $995 Program Deposit within 14 days of your initial acceptance. Once your payment is processed, you will be redirected to complete your Pre-Matriculation Form and Program Travel Waivers.

2. Pre-Matriculation

Please complete the Pre-Matriculation Form which indicates the following information:

  • Preferred Program Start Date and Program Duration (Most candidates in sites in East Africa and South America complete at least four-week programs.)

  • Preferred Placement Departments (Please indicate your preferred clinical departments, such as Surgical, Pediatrics, etc— East Africa only).

  • Interns will rotate in one department per week (except in specialized fields like Dentistry, Mental Health, Midwifery, Physical Therapy, and Nutrition, where interns remain for the full duration).

Note: Please make certain to upload a clear and recent photo.

3. Program Waivers

On this step, you will receive an email that permits acceptance of your digital signature. Please fill out all required Program Waivers to proceed onto the next steps.

Note: For high school candidates and interns under 18 years old, Program Waivers will be sent to parents for countersignature. Please coordinate with your parent(s) to ensure the countersignature is received in a timely manner.
