Does the applicant have to be a student?

Written by Mark Jones

No. While many of our participants are current high school, undergraduate, or graduate students, International Medical Aid’s programs are also open to:

  • Recent graduates preparing to apply to professional programs, including:

    • Medical

    • Physician Assistant

    • Nursing

    • Dental

    • Public health

  • Gap year students taking time between high school and college or between college and graduate or professional school.

  • Career changers who are exploring a transition into healthcare or a related field.

Note:

  • Gap years are an excellent opportunity to build meaningful clinical experience, strengthen applications, and confirm whether a career in healthcare or global health is the right fit.

  • Our team works with each candidate to align their internship experience with their academic background, level of training, and long-term goals.
